Dumpling Festival

28 May is Dumpling Festive- Duan Wu Jie

I'm pretty excited about this occasion. Coz I'll get to eat delicious dumpling! Up-to-date, I'd eaten 2 Nonya 'Chang' and 2 'bak chang'. Quite satify but can have more! hahaha! I wanna eat 'ki chang'!

Reminicing the past... my mother used to get very busy during this period... but she no longer gets busy now. Last time she'll help my grandma make 'ki chang'. And she'll make miniature ones...something like the size of five stones. Dip those mini 'ki chang' in icing sugar and put it into my mouth...Yummy!

Then she'll go to er yee house... to make Nonya 'chang'. Because last time I don't quite like to eat pork...she'll prepare her own ingredient and make chicken Nonya 'chang'. And because I don't like dried mushroom, she'll put in button mushrooms for me.

Then after that, she'll go to my da yee house to make 'bak chang'. Don't quite favour those fatty meat, but according to many...the 'bak chang' made in those days were delicious. Now...wonder if it's due to age...my da yee standard dropped... the 'bak chang' were no longer delicious as before.

I missed my ah ma's 'ki chang'. =) The dumpling festive reminds me of the past and makes me feel like getting back to the younger me! =) Going round the adults and watch them make the dumpling...help to select the white coloured rice for the 'ki chang'...and tasting the first batch of the freshly made dumpling.

Wish all a Happy Dumpling Festive. Enjoy your dumplings but don't forget to take control of your diet. Seeya~
